Regulatory Compliance Analyst

The Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for managing regulatory and compliance issues for the organization and reports directly to the Regulatory Compliance Officer. This includes filing company products with state authorities, lending institutions, and coordinating service contract provider and secretary of state registrations for multiple business entities within the organization, as well as processing insurance licensing for internal employees.

The following duties are included, but not limited to:

Entity Compliance

The Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance of the organization with various regulations and laws. This includes but not limited to:

  • Overseeing and processing all secretary of state and service contract provider registrations and insurance license renewals for the organization and assisting in acquiring new licenses/registrations for entities.
  • Securing, gathering, and maintaining all corporate records in accordance with departmental and corporate policies and any applicable federal and state laws.
  • Building positive relationships with vendors, insurers, state regulatory authorities, lending institutions, and other external entities to achieve corporate compliance goals and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory changes by monitoring departments of insurance and industry trade organization websites and participating in industry trade teleconferences.
  • Preparing compliance status or other reports for internal leadership and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with all levels of the organization to process corporate compliance matters.

Product Compliance

  • Reviewing customer-facing materials for compliance with standards, monitoring usage of approved materials.
  • Reviewing and drafting products to ensure compliance with state/federal laws and regulatory policies and obtaining approvals in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing lender requirements and creating and filing products compliant with lending institution’s minimum business requirements.
  • Building positive relationships with internal team members, lenders, regulatory authorities, and other vendor or entity partners.
  • Coordinating with Product, Operations, Risk, and any other team stakeholders, to implement product enhancements and/or regulatory changes.
  • Reporting compliance violations to the Regulatory Compliance Officer and General Counsel and working with various teams to investigate and mitigate such violations in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Handling corporate matters and documentation with discretion as required.
  • Serving as a contact person to communicate with state regulatory authorities on matters related to submitted forms, rate, rule, lender submissions, registration filing, or any other compliance or regulatory issues as assigned.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Regulatory Compliance Analyst role should possess:

  • A 4-year college degree or paralegal certification is preferred
  • 2 years of experience in compliance, specifically in the insurance or service contract industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe, GoToMeeting.
  • Knowledge of SERFF, NAIC, SBS, NIPR, and experience with filing and licensing products
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
