I started my warranty in February of 2024. Well in early July my check engine light came on. Thought that's weird. Went to autozone they said it was a cylinder 4 misfire. Called ADAP and asked what I needed to do. They said go to any ASE certified shop. Went to a local napa place and they ended up misdiagnosing the repair needed along with trying to completely rebuild the upper half of the engine. They said my cylinder 4 issue was because of the intake valve being damaged. After 3 weeks and a denial claim from ADAP. I called them again and asked what I should do because that shop obviously wasn't trying to fix just the issue. They said I wouldn't trust that shop even if they sent in a modified invoice at this point and try somewhere else, so I went and picked up my truck. Once I finally got a copy of the estimate from the Napa place I actually did agree with ADAP for denying the claim, because they were trying to add on too much. I then took it to a local ford dealership. My truck was away from me from like July 10th until today Sept 26th.(still don't have it back yet) I did have my truck for like a week in between shops. The Ford dealership did their own testing and after a wet compression test they found that the issue was actually the block or piston rings. (Covered under the silver section) They had an inspector from the company finally come out after 2 plus weeks. The afternoon he left I got an email stating the claim was denied for continued use. First off driving it wasn't adding to any damage and i found out the problem with the kind of compression loss through the block. That a new engine (or used new to me) was always the cheapest option and really the only option to do a repair because of how much labor is needed to fix a cylinder issue. I called and Mark F answered the phone I asked him to tell me the reason that was found for the check engine light. He told me he did not have that. I asked how he denies a claim with not even having the reason for the engine light in the first place. He said I kept driving it.....was told to go somewhere else! Long story short they did not stand by covering or taking care of me as a customer. I'm now faced with what to do moving forward to get this resolved. I had hoped for a good situation like companies and manufacturer warranties that I have used in the past. They are too happy to say nothing can be done, no one else to talk to. everyone I talked to was a supervisor including Mark Fischer. The consumer reviews are so so misleading. However, I really do hope others have better experiences. I never was offered a rental car for the time my truck was tied up. Guess I should not have been patient with the process and things take time mentality. Any talk of no maximum engine repair cost is a lie because they will find a denial reason...Kimberly Fordham2024-11-22Kate was very helpful and informative. Bought a car in February for a 2nd car and when I tried to use the warranty in November because I had only put 300 miles on it as it’s a 2nd car, they said they would not pay for the year down to diagnose the problem which was going to cost 1,700 and then they said even if I paid for the diagnostic tear down that they would most likely not pay for the repair because I had not put enough miles on it. Please use a different company to protect yourself! Just 2 1/2 months in, I had an issue with my air conditioner condenser. When my mechanic filed a claim, it was denied due to a supposed pre-existing condition. They exploit every loophole to avoid paying out claims. This company is extremely shady—make sure to read your contract thoroughly. They are focused solely on sales. Once you're signed up, it's denied claims, long hold times (45+ min), and empty promises. It’s a waste of money. I wish I had researched this company beforehand. They engage in fraudulent business practices and have fake online reviews. For more accurate reviews, check the BBB and Yelp. Avoid them at all costs!
