Maserati’s excellent limited factory warranty already covers your new automobile. What if you wish to increase that coverage, however? To suit your demands, Maserati provides two alternatives for an extended warranty. For years four and five of ownership, the first option is an Extended Warranty that covers a portion of the vehicle. A limited extended warranty is the second option; it only covers a portion of the vehicle for years six and seven. Here, we’ll explain both and what is and isn’t covered.
There are two plans included in the Maserati extended warranty. The first is its Extended Guarantee, which extends the factory warranty of four years and 50,000 miles by an extra two years. This warranty has no mileage restrictions and exclusively covers bumper-to-bumper problems.
The second option is the Limited Extended Warranty, which provides coverage for the powertrain for an additional two years without a mileage limit. Routine maintenance, anti-perforation protection, and roadside assistance are not included.
The Extended Warranty covers the fourth and fifth years you own your Maserati. There is no cap on distance. There are certain restrictions, however.
To be qualified for this guarantee, you must adhere to a mileage restriction. You cannot have travelled more than 80,778 miles for a gas engine. The second is that only a few models are compatible with it, including the Ghibli, Quattroporte, Levante, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio. The third is that you must apply while the manufacturer’s warranty covers the car. Moreover, any alterations, repairs, or modifications undertaken at a Maserati Service Center by a party other than Maserati are not covered by this guarantee.
A limited extended warranty is available from Maserati for years six and seven of ownership. It does not address issues bumper to bumper, only the power plant. It consists of the transmission, gearbox, and engine. There is no mileage restriction. However, there are restrictions, much like with the previous bumper-to-bumper coverage.
You can’t travel more than 93,205 miles to qualify for this plan. Only the Maserati Ghibli, Quattroporte, Levante, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio are covered by this guarantee. Additionally, you have to submit your application during the Extended Warranty period.
Additionally, this powertrain coverage does not cover any modifications or repairs made using non-Maserati parts or services, much as the Extended Warranty. You won’t be insured if you ignore recalls or don’t keep your car in good shape.
We anticipate more incredible benefits for a high-end sports car like a Maserati. The entire powertrain and bumper-to-bumper coverages are good, but they don’t last for the extended warranty. Only a select group of Maserati owners are provided with roadside assistance. The coverage exclusions are appropriate. However, the “unlimited miles” moniker is not as alluring as it would be due to the mileage cap on the extended coverage.
